Maurice Duruflé – Requiem Op. 9

Composed in 1947, Requiem op. 9 is a major work of 20th century French music. Maurice Duruflé relies on Gregorian themes and writes under the influences of Debussy and Ravel. The piece was described as “a piece of a miracle in terms of balance between tradition and modernity, sensuality, piety, luxuriance, sobriety”.

Anne-Marie Cabut (FR)
Ann-Marie Cabut, a music teacher and a choir conductor, studied with Christian Wagner at the Conservatory of Lyon and is an alumnus of the Lyon Faculty of Musicology. She serves as the artistic director of the impressive La Chanterie de Lyon (400 young singers aged 5-18) and has been the conductor of the children’s choir La Cigale de Lyon since 1995. She leads her singers on the path of repertoire discovery which involves creation, choreography and staging. Besides focusing mainly on children's choirs, she works with mixed choirs in Lyon.
