Damijan Močnik – Missa St Francisci Assisiensis

Missa St Francisci, composed for choir, strings and improvising percussion/drum set, was inspired by St Francis of Assisi. The piece’s music is simple, expressive, melodic, and joyful.With the sLOVEnia String Orchestra and Anders Åstrand, a master percussionist, we will also perform improvised transitions and intonations between sections of the mass.

The participants will be able to attend the atelier with original scores only. The use of photocopies shall not be permitted. We will offer affordable set of sheet music specified by the mentor of the atelier. The participants will be able to purchase them only after receiving the confirmation of participation in the chosen atelier. The link to the online store will be published here in April 2021.

Gary Graden (US/SE)
Gary Graden, an American singer and conductor, studied at the Hartt School of Music as well at the Stockholm Royal Academy of Music, under the mentorship of Eric Ericson. Graden serves as the director of choral music in Stockholm Cathedral and is a staff member of the Stockholm´s Musikgymnasium, where he founded the Stockholm Musikgymnasium´s Chamber Choir. Working with the said and with St Jacob's Chamber Choir has won him grand prizes and first prizes in several prestigious European competitions, including the European Grand Prix.  Besides conducting orchestras and choirs around the world, Graden has commissioned and premiered more than 90 works.
